time changes everything, us and everything

I probably do have racist biases too. And anti-racism is like a plant - you have to keep watering it. You can't just coast on the fact that you weren't racist 30 years ago, back when you were young and voted left, and assume you're permanently in the clear. Especially as you get older: if you've kept the same old ideas, if you're afraid of fading away or being forgotten while others aren't, and then you watch younger people succeed, you can start resenting them even though that's a normal stage of life. That's what I call aging badly.

Yeah, I'm with Jamsbo on this, Albert.

The very construct of time could be said to exist so as to facilitate the experience of change.

I became aware of my Mother's racial bias when I was in my twenties - about the time, as a Celt, I had a Jewish colleague. I found it unfathomable. Plus, earlier, when I was at boarding school, I had both an Asian and an Ethiopian teacher, and the thought of being racial about ethnicity just never occurred to me. Later in life too, I had Bajan business contact who I became great friends with. Now I live in France!!! What's it all about? That's what I'd like to know and comprehend, as it seems quite alien to me.
