Inspiration came from a song, much like a muse can and does. I borrowed from the Bible, and from the song, and the next thing ya know--these words came along:

How Many Moons? [slightly revised from the raw 1st version]

The Devil will wrestle
With the soul of a man

Measure his worth
And then turns his "hand"

Marking the works
That Satan requires

Man trades his soul
For vanities desired

The fame and the gold-
Was the cost of their doom

Canceling their memories
That mourns with the moon

The fires of perdition
Do burn to consume

Leaving no trace of residue-
Not even one's dust

It's extinction forever
For the soul that is lost
