a bardic admonition posted in the first decade of the new century

Hither knave, come nigh to me,
wrest thine thoughts 'til hearts agree;
heed the lesson pride won't teach,
practise what thou fiercely preach.
Turnest thou thine fertile tome:
another leaf, another poem;
steady on 'til light of day,
only purest thoughts will stay.
