A homage to the reluctant and awkward single bar conversation.

I couldn't stay away

Excuse me, I saw you over there,
With a drink in hand, sadly,
There are so many people who would take advantage,
But not this time, maturity kicked in,
I just wanna talk, here, take this water,
I don't know what's wrong,
Or it's better left unsaid, but hear this story,
Of the light and the shadow,
One spies, and the other hides, a perfect balance,
Once light ask shadow, "What makes us happy?,
Is it that we're inseparable?,
Is it that we're so balanced?,
Or is it that we are the perfect couple?,
And then shadow, turned to light and said, plainly,
"It 's because we stay out of each other's way",

I know it's kinda corny,
But I had to say something to get through those tears,
To find that smile, hidden behind the cocktail,
Don't speak just yet, and before you move away,
I just wanted to say that you are beautiful,
And I'll stay out of your way,
To the comfort of your drink,
To fall victim of the happy hour of small talk,
But through all of this, remember this moment,
With the water, before the second drink,

The dancer moves without a trace,
