When you love someone totally but they don't love you

Withered love

I see her standing on her own wearing a lovely red gown
she has long flowing blond hair and many people stop and stare.
Her body moves serenly, the way she moves is graceful
Her manner is extremely tasteful - and all I can say is wow.

I go and ask her if she wants to dance
and we dance and dance and dance.
the evening nearly ends and I ask her to stay,
she agrees

What happens next you can all guess
fast forward 1 year and we are still friends
having fun and lots of sex
then I realise that I am falling - deeply in love.

Its not easy as a bloke trying to hide your feelings
knowing that if you reveal yourself you could scare her away
She suspects that I am falling for her
She is not ready - time to end it!

I get the call after my exams - bless her heart
she was very careful not to hurt me too much
It is over my dear - you have to go
But I hope that we can stay friends for ever.

I hate being friends but for her sake I try
and so far have managed not to cry.

Awww...how heartbreaking, the angst of unrequited love. I think most have experienced this at one time in their lives.
