The Marionette

If I had lived in Shakespeare's time
My name would appear in plays
Today I'm an actor in a pantomime
fulfilling the utter disgrace

The decadence of the pauper
so appropriatly arrayed
When the lies of the author
becomes true in a masquerade

I ponder though behind the drapes
movements proceed with aim
Radiant silhouettes in decaying shapes
does this marionette have no shame?
