Finding something you knew was always there.

The voice on the other end

Working, always working am I,
Then came a phone call,
On my funny cell,
A little voice came on the phone,
She asked for my name,
And she gave hers,
Her name is Angela,
She's my sister,

I knew this day would come,
We are all seeds that grew apart,
From the original tree,
And the time had come at last,
To hear her voice,

She asked how did I know it was her,
The original answer was Dad told me of you,
But deep inside, you know your own,
You know your hand,
You know your soul,
And you know your baby sister,

Thinking, always thinking am I,
Then came the phone again,
It was Dad,
I told him she beat you to it,
I didn't tell him, but,
I know he knew,
That I was proud of him,

He was always larger than life to me,
And he still is,
I worry about him now,
More than ever,
I guess its a child's instinct,
The past faded as fast as the present began,
To and for me,
He was the reason I learned the most important thing about grudges,
They get old, and so do we,

I wanted to know him,
Not hear about him,
And with that, the past faded forever,
To be replaced with today,
With Father and Son,
And now with Brothers and Sisters,

I guess Clannad was right about the truth,
"No matter where you go, I will find you",
"If it takes a long, long time",
And as Elton John said before,
"To my future lies, beyond the Yellow Brick Road",

The dancer moves without a trace,
