A bit of nostagia, remembering when times were simpler

Do You Remember

Do you remember your youth, days gone by?
Being happy just looking at the sky?
Do you remember catching fireflies, watching them glow.
Thinking your parents knew everything that there was to know.

Do you remember the excitement on waking Christmas Day?
Finding what Santa left you, the new games to play.
Do you remember that magic of your first love,
And kneeling, saying Thank-you, to our Lord up above.

These days live forever in our memories and in our hearts.
Cherished and shared, they're a part of who we are.
Images of happiness, beauty and love,
This is what we say Thank-you for-to Our Lord above.

Thank-you for your comments, It's good to remember the good memories of your past and learn from the memories that aren't so good.

chasingtheday The PoetBay support member heart!
might be a good idea to shorten the lines due to the site's border knocking the endings to a new line.

an uplifting piece here. looking at the positive, but life is a mixed bag, many remember the darker times too.

This brang a tear to my eye. Years go quicker the older you get, I loved it back in the day...

Thanks for the poem.
