Dreams in silk, revelations

My twilight cape stirred as a cloaked guardian led me by his gauntlet, and it brought me before a secret door
The guardian led me no further and I was carried on by the sweeping current of the turmoiled floor

The sea beneath me dried out as I reached a winding stairway where orbs of void floated without cause or goal
A wave of grey silk pushed me back eagerly as I tread the last step, but it could not force away my soul

I had entered a roofless attic, and the robed eye invited me there to find my sight
In the middle of this arcane place stood six chalices in a bottomless shrine, and I defined my will with all my might

Suddenly two gates opened before me, one a pillar of fire and one a road of light
Reaching them both with my two hands, my right was untouched but my left was burned and tremendous flames rushed through me, once more my twilight companion held me back but I chose to enter the pillar of fire for I was drawn towards the fright

Doreen Cavazza
Reminiscent of Clive Barker. This is haunting, vivid, mystical. "...but it could not force away my soul." Very nicely done.
