poem for poets seldom read

Laying in the bathtub
On a friday afternoon.
Dreaming here for hours itseems
Looking like a prune.

Seeking inspiration
Germination for the seed.
To spark to life a poem
Other poets never read.

(except you of course)

Should I seek to be female?
On the bay they get more hits.
Is this because the men will read
From anything with tits?

Or should I write pornography
Filth sells well on the net.
Write what I'd like to do to you
And the prison time I'd get.

Or shall I just be bland old me
Content with what I am.
Waffling on on poetbay
Without a fucking plan.

ah you hit a good point here, females do tend to get more comments etc in their poems, maybe that though is a sad reflection on us as males.

This is pretty funny. Statistically though, if females do get more hits on poetbay (which sounds, uh, HIGHLY LIKELY!!!), it might be simply because more females post? I bet male poets get at least as many hits per poem! (I know a thing or two about research and statistics: I may have to take this as a challenge... ;-,? )

I agree with Estee, the only way to write is to be true to yourself.
I always maintain: "What comes from the heart goes to the heart!"
Good poetry will always be read.
And yes, one more 'Mantra': " Never write to seek approval!"
Because then you write not what you want to write, but what you think you should write... lol!

So, just keep writing my friend, just as it pleases you!
