Beautiful Dreamer

Beautiful, where have you been?
Around the world to see me again?
Why do you linger in the dark
And not allow me full view of your splendor?
Bashful, I think not.
Others bask in your glory every night,
Yet, you attend me so seldom.
You tease me with your pleasures.
Entice me with your dreams.
Many dance with you for what seems to be eternities,
While I see you rare moments a night
The time we share is infinite bliss
Often, you flitter past me in favor of another
Cruel you are
Your absence affects every aspect of my life
Without you I am less than I was
And shall never achieve that to which I aspire.
Some you have jilted have gone mad with desire.
And still I hold dear the thought that one day you will again
Find me in your favor.
