My Heart From Depths 'Neath Me Beckoned

My heart from depths 'neath me beckoned,
Leave me in this darkened hole,
Where I can seep into this soil
And feed upon your burning soul.

Let darkness spread throughout your life,
And sadness breathe into your lungs,
I'm the first of your remains,
Mislead by your many tongues.

Visit me and bring me flowers
That frown upon your destined grave,
Or take me to a dry July,-- Where
Smiles upon your face he gave.

My heart from depths 'neath me beckoned
For me to follow there,
I'll exhume my broken heart,--
And handle it with care.

Individuality
love/death, makes me think more along the lines of someone loved and then discarded rather than the actual death of someone loved. a first love who still pines for their heart. ah such is the way of life and love, always pain, no respite from that. an ache that swirls within. a good poem.
