Cotton Candy

Carnival lights of pink and blue
Outshine many other sweets.
Treats of only teaspoons but
Tricking on the stick.
Open wide and stuff it in!
Nip it fast before it melts!

Circus platform in the mouth
And fair rides on the tongue!
Nostalgic scent and fluffy dreams,
Delights lovers hand in hand,
Yanking children to the stand!

O what memories this poem invokes. Candy floss, (as we call it here,) was always such an unavailable treat.....when I did finally aquire one, I could not decide whether I liked it or not, but the taste and splendour of this huge, pink fluff is always with me! I have a sister who lives in Italy, she used to work in a circus there, and she and her husband had a candy floss machine.....a magnet for children, as your poem says!
