I wrote these lines looking down on nainital lake in the early hours of the morning while taking a morning walk.

The Golden Rays

I look down at the lake below,
Its covered by dark ripples from shore to shore,
All around me is peace and quiet,
Before dawn breaks thru and there is light.
All I can hear is the murmuring of the wind,
Before the sounds oflife take over my mind,
I hear the waking up calls of the birds and the bees,
I look around and everywhere the beauty of nature,I can see,
When suddenly right in front of my eyes,
The sun jumps out from behind the mountainside.
I get dazzled by the rays of light,
And as I feel the warmth suffuse me,I see a sight,
The lake which only a few moments ago,
Was totally dark and dreary from shore to shore,
Is suddenly a bowl of dazzling daimonds and light,
Far brighter than any artificial sight,
Its amazing how one burst of the suns rays,
Can change what we percieve and see and make us say,
"Oh God!Thank you for your creation of life"
If only during all human strife,
Someone could bestow these rays of light,
No man would ever need to fight.
Cause we believe what we see,
And just one ray of light made me believe,
What seems dark one moment can be actually be full of light.
Just one warm ray can affect our mind and sight.
I wish that I could be more like the sun,
Spreading warmth and light wherever I turn.

a good, positive message. if only life really were so simple... a beautiful thought, a wondrous ideal.... and a world full of humans to wreck it.

still, gorgeous... and saddening to me, to know that some people will never see that ray of light....
