Jeju Island, a beautiful Honey Moon Island in South Korea is made up of solidified Volcanic Rock. The totem-like Idol, their island symbol, is made up of this same Volcanic Rock- it is so light in weight porous and yet it is a very hard sturdy rock...

Alone I stand, like a Rock

Alone I stand, like a Rock
Purified by purging fire of sufferings
Tempered by hardships of life to steel,
Molten lava of burning desire
Solidified into a volcanic rock-
Hard, yet porous,
Solid, yet light...

Pure, rock like, steeled against life,
Alone, I stand with titanic courage,
Like a cliff jutting out into the sea of existence-
Hard outside, molten inside,
Sensitive to elements,
Impregnable to harsh winds of life-
Facing the life
With volcanic pride...

My dear Ben, You got it all wrong! I think there is an element of malice in your remark- what ever your reason... This is not love of suffering (masochism in other words)! I am not your typically Indian suffering woman, idealized by the mythological legends for obvious vested interest of men... This is about endurance, about standing pure like a rock, in face of adversity, not with standing the suffering of a sensitive soul... the gender bios does come in here at all... I hope this will help? And you will refrain from tongue in cheek compliments!

No Love!

Hi ((Zoya))

Never resting upon your laurels
You bring into life the living forces
of the innate world
in a profoundly moving
and as ever beautiful way...
