I wrote this poem when my dog died in january 2005. He was my one and only, and it was a great loss for me. I've never been a christian, I believe in what I see, and I wonder if God exist, why do we suffer so much as we do?
It's a very personally text

God has sent us to grief

The world is different
Not as I thought
The world created me
But I don't follow the laws
I follow my own rules
I do believe in what I may
If I am a creation of God
Why has he sent me in grief?

I am different
Following my own way
Do you hate me?
He - he
Don't worry, I understand
I hate myself too
Ask me why, I don't care
I probably don't gonna say it anyway

So what do I love, if I don't love myself
Good question!
I loved one thing, he was all I had
13 years together
In good and bad
He always where there for me
But God has sent us all to grief
God took him away from me, you see

Give me a reason to believe in God
But, I probably wont listen to you anyway...

"Thank God for the suffering"

And answers to your questions can be different. It depends on the one who answers...

By the way, the best poem about a loss of dog that I ever read is "Inscription on the monument of a newfoundland dog" by Lord Byron. If you did not read, I very much recommend.
