Inspired by "If" by Rudyard Kipling. Not in the same league that is for sure but we had fun putting it together for F.i.in.e Moods oldest son.

A Man's Heart (Co-Write Rik & F.i.in.e Moods)

You are still a boy but manhood
Is looking towards you,
You still have many bridges to cross
And many things yet to do.

And while you are on that path of mystery
Wondering where it may lead,
Take this advice along with you
And use it if you please.

You see, if you follow the three RRR's,
And join them with the 4 CCCC's,
Then the dignity of life for you
Will unfold quite naturally.

Firstly, always respect yourself,
And be responsible for your actions.
Show respect for others,
Show them consideration,
Courtesy and compassion,
And if you are in doubt
Of what course to follow next,
It's simple, just believe in nature's gift
And use your common sense.

Don't be fooled by smoke and mirrors
Of those who trade in egos,
Don't follow the sheepish crowd
Just because somebody else says
That's the way you should go.

Always judge for yourself.
Find the truth in what you seek,
Let instinct guide your choice,
And take good notes
When your heart finds time to speak.

And if you can face the strongest man
And look him squarely in the eye,
Yet bend down on your hands and knees
To raise the fallen to the waiting sky,
Then you have chosen the correct path.

And furthermore,
What once was a boy's,
Is now a man's heart.

Good advice and a worthy contender for Kiplings 'If'. As a mother of sons I could see much to relate to my own boys. A wonderful co-write from you both for an obviously very cherished son.

Good Advice rik, very good advice, Mr Kipling would be very impressed, I am sure fine moods son will find great strength from it as well as every reader. I wanted to copy it off for my 17 year old, he is way off the mark at the moment. Smiling at you, Tai
