To My Friend

Weither you have known me for a moment,
or for a what seems a lifetime,
it matters not to me.

What matters most to me is you stood beside me in your way,
Like a highway man's latern illuminating my path along the way.
Through the darkest of moonless nights,
where even the stars dare not even come out to play,
You stood beside me and helped me along my way.

And in best of times, you were there like the sun sharing my elation chasing all chances of precipitation away when it so wanted to play or ruin my parade.

You stood beside me and listened to my tales of woe and miseries self bestowed.

When I tripped , when I fell through some device of my own or influence from outside,
Wiether you were the hand extended to assist in resuming lifes jaunt, or the words that dusted me off, your interest has been appreciated.

Friend is a word commonly abused these days ,
while aquaintances is a better word to describe peoples temperments

A friend is what you are,
A friend is what you be .

And to me its more than a category in which I use to identify.

And since you are a friend to me , that can only mean that you mean the world to me ...
