A poem re-worked from a time when my world was shared with another soul.

Starlight

As I lie in my bed of rest, I witness fields of sparkling stars.
Galactic starfields in full view as far as the mind can reach.
Now shafts of moonlight through slatted blinds dance;
Where once lovers embraced and shared carefree verse.
Each shaft of silvery light a momento of her sweet presence.
When once the warmth of twin spirits shared happiness;
So did the divinity of kindred spirits fuse in rapturous love.
Here do cascades of sunbeams dart and play as my memory;
Takes me back to nights of black cloaked spangled velvet,
Sparkles refected in her eyes; in harmonywith a million silver stars.

Damon
An excellent poem.
I can tell that it must be from real memories of someone that you loved. You wrote it so well as if it is straight from the heart, so I think it is real or you are an excellent writer that knows exactly how to get your feelings across to your readers. That you know is the sign of a good writer when he can make us believe that even the fiction is true.

Great work!

Sid, the imagery is so vivid as the sweetness of the memories of which you write are alive and deeply moving. : ) kathy
