Darkest Stain (A Prayer)

Keeper of soul and spirit remind us of wrong and right.
Dark red blooody stain on desert sands in failing light.
Kneeling in prayer through warefare's dark troubled night.

There to maim and kill such doctrine each mans right,
A funeral pyre in fragmented Humvee an awful bloody sight.
Political will, supported power, mindless show of might.

One mans brother becomes his enemy; an impossible plight,
Flags of nations held in triumph over bleached bones white.
Killing taught as honour, not perceived as human verbal slight.

Keeper of sanity, help us think, with caring open mind.
See the legacy of unmitigated folly witnessed by mankind.
Soon to challenge those who profess to see, but willflly blind.
