Tin Man

Pain is how you know you're still alive.
That is what I heard some wise man say.
If that's true then I know I'm living.
I felt my heart breaking today.
Love is such a wondrous feeling.
Yet it can be a heavy weight to bear.
Love can tear you up into tiny pieces
When the one you love just does not care.

One day I won't feel the aching.
Like the Tin Man, I know I have a heart.
Yes, I can feel it breaking.
It seems my whole world has come apart.

Tell me, how do I stop this hurting?
I am told it disappears in time.
I'm not sure I can stand the waiting.
I'm going slowly out of my mind.
The heart wants what it wants when it wants it.
Sadly, it can't always have it's way.
Now I am faced with this dilemma.
Should I cling to her or simply fade away?

One day I won't feel the aching.
Like the Tin Man, I know I have a heart.
Yes, I can feel it breaking.
It seems my whole world has come apart.

Nothing seemed to work out for the Tin Man.
He got a heart, but it was just a clock.
For it was not a heart he was missing.
It was love, the key to open every lock.
I am just a sad and lonely singer.
Singing songs I wrote of life and love.
Sometimes I feel like such a loser.
Till I feel the power from above.

One day I won't feel the aching.
Like the Tin Man, I know I have a heart.
Yes, I can feel it breaking.
It seems my whole world has come apart.

Bob
There is a tone here that I like, although I can't see why all the full stops.
By the way, I am just Bob :-)
