All Alone

All Alone

I met a special lady, as sweet as she could be.
I thought she was the one that God had meant for me.
Then one day my hopes and dreams came crashing to an end.
She told me that I will be no more than her friend.
So now it seems, my life I will forever spend
All alone.

All alone, with no one to share.
All alone, with no one to care.
I'll never give my heart away again.
I don't think I can stand the pain.
It seems that I am destined to remain
All alone.

She'll always mean the world to me, I want her to know.
My mind says just walk away, my heart won't let her go.
She's everything I wanted, so gentle, sweet and kind.
Now my heart is broken, I fear I'll lose my mind.
I should have seen this coming, now myself I find.
All alone.

All alone, with no one to share.
All alone, with no one to care.
I'll never give my heart away again.
I don't think I can stand the pain.
It seems that I am destined to remain
All alone.

Yes, I am a dreamer, I know I'll always be.
I still have those dreams where she's in love with me.
The dreaming just adds to the heartache.
I don't know how much more I can take.
When I dream I always awake
All alone.

All alone, with no one to share.
All alone, with no one to care.
I'll never give my heart away again.
I don't think I can stand the pain.
It seems that I am destined to remain
All alone.

your pain is powerful; use it to help yourself move to a new place of the heart. I understand. Kathy

The depth of emotion that birthed this poem is clearly evident.
The heartache is felt in each line but is driven home like a spike through a butterfly in the title and last line of each verse. Unfortunately time moves slowly through pain like this. But it will move. And down the road, God may have that perfect one still.
