Love on the Internet

Love on the Internet

I found love on the Internet. I never thought I would.
Love on the Internet, believe me it's so good.
I found her out in cyberspace, and I love her so.
Love on the Internet, I'll never let her go.

Now I am not a techno geek. Don't know RAM from DOS.
I was sitting home one night, feeling sad and lost.
I picked up my laptop and wandered into that chat room.
Met a charming, darling gal, we started chatting soon.

It started out with "hello" Went straight to "h r u?"
Soon we talked of dreams and things and all we'd like to do.
We chatted about the things we've done and things we never will.
Things that makes us mad and what gives us a thrill.

I found love on the Internet. I never thought I would.
Love on the Internet, believe me it's so good.
I found her out in cyberspace, and I love her so.
Love on the Internet, I'll never let her go.

For just under two years, we chatted everyday.
We could chat for hours and never run out of things to say.
We'd talk about our kids, our work and the happenings of life.
When she told me of her husband, I told her about my wife.

We talked about how our lives had become such a mess.
We both said that we deserve some long lost happiness.
Together we are happy, we have been from the start.
This darlin', sweet, young thing; that gal who owns my heart.

I found love on the Internet. I never thought I would.
Love on the Internet, believe me it's so good.
I found her out in cyberspace, and I love her so.
Love on the Internet, I'll never let her go.

Somewhere along the way, this ol' boy fell in love.
It's like she was a gift to me directly from above.
With each thing I'd learn from her, I'd only long for more.
I just can't wait to see what each day has in store.

She's such a sweet and lovely lass, she sets my heart aglow.
I can't help the way I feel, I just love her so.
Sadly, to her, I am nothing more than just a friend.
I'd say it doesn't matter, but I cannot pretend.

I found love on the Internet. I never thought I would.
Love on the Internet, this fool believed he could
I found her out in cyberspace, and I love her so.
Love lost on the Internet, I never felt so low.

There is a lot of love on the Internet; not the tactile type, although it can develop into that. It does take up ones time though, and yet can still bring many blessings aside from finding an intimate partner. But then; intimacy can come in many different ways, and for me at least; cyberspace has played a large part in these discoveries. Personally; over the last two years I have developed a few great "real life" friendships which were initiated from the Internet; if you pursue it, then I wish you the same kind of fortune.
