She was extraordinary....
there is no other word to explain
with that very first kiss
she stole every beat of my heart.
We stood a life time kissing
trapped by a moment of time
in a moment of space
our spirits were cleansed
by the purity of the rain
as we tumbled freely
into each others abyss.
And for a while it seemed
that two spirits
lost in the vastness of time
had been reunited.
She my cleopatra
my Juliet
my Helen of Troy
and i, her King Arthur
who would ride out on the dragons breath
and return to lay the wisp of the wind
at her feet.
But I had made promises
promises that i could not keep
not through wanting
just a mind that defied.
And as our demons fought their individual battles
broken glass was fed into our hearts
until our spirits and souls collided
then finally
the casualty
our love
fell tortured and twisted to the ground.
And as the dark bled into the light of our day
the golden thread that bound our hearts
was ripped and torn
and on that fearful night
that fearful ice cold night
she screamed into the cavern of loneliness
that was enveloping her soul
and she took her heart away.
She was extraordinary
that very first kiss
stole every beat from my heart.
But now, the purity of the rain is no longer
and no more can i drown in her hair
and lose all trace
Yet i will not forget our moment in time
that moment in space.
And i swear
oh, i swear
that every rain drop that has ever fallen
has been equalled and matched
by a tear drop from my own eternal well.
She was extraordinary
there is no other word to explain
with that very first kiss
she stole every beat of my heart
and gave flight to every moment of pain.
