The Road To Darkness

A sublime and mysterious way
That leads to truth and far astray

It winds through barren forests and alive sands
It climbs the steps of eternity, flaying your hands

Through runed colonnades of bones and blood reaching high
A chosen path to war and chaos inevitably nigh
Paved with haunting mirrors reflecting your warping face
A lasting eclipse sealed when falling from all mans grace

Great write. Yes, it is a hellish and horrible road, you write of here, but thankfully, there is light along the path, and always a choice of directional change, we just have to take what we find and transform the journey, however we are able.
