hmm..inspiration comes from the strangest of places.
she asks awkward questions
she say's things that are much too young for her age,
she's six but acts like she's two,
she sits and demands attention from you,
she demands all sorts of things,
sweets,toys and food.
the most suttle being the most important of all,
love,
she looks happy when you send her outside,
she smiles at you as she pulls shut the door,
some boys are playing football,
she trys to join in,but crys when she falls,
she runs in,making a terrible sound,
she pulls up her trousers,showing you her wound,
she's still crying,
you smile reasuringly,
but really your scared,
she's covered in bruses,
and thats just one leg,
you look at her closely and notice a scared look in her eye,
'its okay' you mutter,still scared
you look closer at her bruses and there's cuts too,
its ovious these arnt from falling over outside,
she looks at you,she feels scared too,
as if she was trusting you completely,she pulled up her shirt,
her stomach was covered in stuff,the same sort,
but what can you do?
your just a babysitter,
you look at her and smile again 'its really okay' you say,
altough your unsure,
'who done this?' you ask,forgetting to smile,
she deosnt say a word,she just cry's
you decide to call the doctor,
he calls you in,
you wrap up the girl in warm clothes and leave,
he's waiting when you arrive,
he decides she needs to go to hospital,
you get there,she's taken a turn for the worse,
but she was fine earlier,you insist,
you sit in the waiting room,
a doctor comes back,
he asks for her parents to be called,
but there on there way.
when they arrive,he tells them she's dead,
you insist,she was fine,you dont understand.
but her mother finally spoke,
she confessed to beating her child,
your confused,but you did your best for her.
your just a babysitter.
