The last few poems I've posted are "old". From a period where I had a lot of issues, so to speak. This might be the last of those I post :)

Leave me be

There was a time
When I used to laugh
But then, time passes
As do pleasure and joy
I find respite, in the cold
The lick of the sun
Is such a painful thing

Leave me be
For a while
Just leave me be

Turn your scorching stare
Away from me, away from me

I hunger, I starve
One emotion, one sensation
I beg of you;
Grant me this but once
I long for the soothing taste
Of salt upon my weary lips

Teala
Great imagery here..a lot of depth to it.

I know all to well the thread of sentiment this poem carries. A deft piece of work. If this is the last of the old, does that mean the sun is now on your face?
