sometimes we need a warm smile
sometimes we need to die
sometimes we need to go away
sometimes we need to stay
sometimes we need to hold on
sometimes we need to take

sometimes we need to leave behind
sometimes we need to go
sometimes we need to be kind
sometimes we need to show
sometimes we need to back off
sometimes we need to heal
sometimes we need to return
sometimes we need to deal

sometimes we need tell all
sometimes we need be still
sometimes we need the ocean
sometimes we need to swim
sometimes we need the blue sky
sometimes we need to fly
sometimes we need to settle
sometimes we need to try

sometimes we need to stand aside
sometimes we need to dare
sometimes we need let go of pride
sometimes we need to share
sometimes we need to be humble
sometimes we need to care
sometimes we need to surrender

I love this - so fast it's like a blur, trippy, the pace is racing. I found that as I read it the lines which were most important and lovely to me bounced out and the ones which I didn't feel so close to stepped back - I think that's beautiful, it seems like the poem is offering lines and images which can appeal and fit with everyone, but as you read it the things you care about most are spotlighted and all the others shaded a little.

i was just looking for a poem then in response to this, one created from our conversations past, but i can't recall the title, grr lol ... aye sometimes we need to flip the frowns to smiles and laughter to tears, we need to let go of the shadows and bask in the open light. :)
