Standing up for an idea takes strength, builds character, brings wisdom, and leads to infinite self-discovery.

Rebellion

There's strength in a rebellion
Seem it right, or seem it wrong
A purpose of the living
To become more than just strong.

There is strength in Rebellion
Beyond what purpose lies ahead
A fortress in the making
To bring forth life from the dead.

There is strength in the Mighty
Who push forth through forests deep
Facing the impending battle
With conquering hearts to keep.

There's hope in the winning
Not for mere trophies upon a shelf
But for the long, life journey
--the vict'ry of finding oneself.

Phyllis J. Rhodes
so true. and so worthy if it is a righteous rebellion. so tragic if it isn't. great writing.

How true Kathy. Sometimes it is a long fight, but just so long as we keep fightening we ar winning. I've always felt rebellion was one of peoples admirable traits.
Nicely put.

Your final line sums up the whole poem. You have to push the boundaries at times to get anywhere in life, we have all done it in our youth I suspect, I find this to be an uplifting, determined piece.
