Foreboding

Under darkened skies my thoughts have danced
Before the flames they stood entranced

Yet now I wonder, far and wide
Why I feel this void inside
With what do I fill this hellish hole?
When fate have left me no grander role?

An urge to wander, far and wide
To discover the nature of this change inside
Drives me onward, away from home
I wish to learn, to read the mystics' tome

A light breakes through the storm clouds, singing its horrid song
With stinging eyes I turn to the dark earth
The road beckons to the seeker and the strong
Much do I long to leave this burnt-out hearth

My thoughts rage and extinguish the sun
No more shall I regret the deeds I've done

As I embark on an exodus of the mind
I wonder what my spirit will find

This is more on the lighter side for you. I like this! It has a feeling of a calm before the storm. There's a vulnerable honesty going on that I really like. A very nice piece, my dear friend.
