Dive

Serpiginous peccancy explodes
and corrodes the veneer of repose,
leaving it naked and exposed
to the trenchant tongues
that indulge the morose.

I dive into the sublime
waters cried by the night,
gilded and slippery sleek,
finding tranquility in the deep
as it muffles the quiver of my heartbeat.

This is word-wizardry, and leaves me with a grin, and larger vocabulary!
Thank you Melanie!

Brilliant. The words you have used are deep, and the mood - just amazing. Also, putting the definitions after the poem is a good idea - it makes the poem stand out more clearly. Keep writing, Melanie.

When the need to express seems to outweigh the ability to express, turn to the arts, there is always a way. You do it so well.
