Are they who you think they are? - 18th December 2010.

Mask.

What if I asked,
For you to remove that mask?
I want to see if you're true,
If it's really you.

Nicely done! Some are willing to show the truth behind the mask, others don't even know that there is a difference. This is wonderful.

Beautiful and poignant in its simplicity. I often find myself thinking these things.

The risks are too great . . . we would have to see ourselves as we really are.

Should you ask for me
to lay down my mask
I shall ask of you the same
for only truth can behold truth
and only truth begets truth.

By the first indication we know what we have in front of us. The REAL us knows the true them. Never mind the amount of time spent on trying to learn about someone for the pain in the end can be deadly to one's heart, mind, spirit and soul. Stay mindful of that little voice inside of every woman and man, what ya see is what you see; best believe it! Mind blowing poem as a reminder to the fact that all of us may wear a mask from time to time. A true person will remove the mask without being asked to do so.

Nicely put, the third line is the one that rings true with me.

It's funny how we tend to ask this after the fact ;-)
Very nice in its simplicity and to-the-pointedness!
