a desire to spread my wings and seeing what happens

way amongst the world

l stand across the beams of the moonlight
watching the sky slowly unfurl into darkest black.
seeing the ground grow from green to silvery grey
watching as the lights appear across this serene haven.

nobody else stands here with me as l watch my shadow in the moon,
it fades and glows and glistens in the evening magic.
l believe there to be a place l can grow away from this one.
in a moment of magic l will see the answer before me.

then as quickly as it came themoment passes within the glare.
headlights, headlights destroy the magic and my hope is gone.
the blue lights fire across my path and snarling whine of motors,
hooter hissing away you go away with you in my path, now gone.

the serenity returns but my anger reveals the truth of this place,
nobody can find peace in the dark of the night without disturbance.
such as it is in the city, no peace for anyone, dangerous anger stirs, always,
never ending nor leaving just hanging like a dark drop of malignant hatred.

no thoughts no dreams allowed here, thats the truth ofthe moment.
so now l understand and my moment glisten in the wet pavement.
leave this place now or be dragged down into its depths forever,
my train has come,l have left, the city awaits you, your turn now.
