one from deep in the subconscious of my archives. The age old question

The Singer and Not the song

The Singer and Not the Song

Why did you stop loving me
How did it all go wrong
Where did it go
That after glow
Was it the singer
Or was it the song

Why did your fire die so quickly
Was it not there all along
Please tell me how
There is no sunshine now
Was it the singer
Or was it the song

Now that I live life bewildered
Telling myself to be strong
Thinking of you
And the things that you do
It must be the singer
And not the song

Achingly beautiful. A tender pleading to know, yet knowing would hurt so.

Well your songs (poems) are beautiful and the singer ( you) are a true gentleman. I enjoy both the singer and his songs. Well done again Mike. : )
