October Haiku / Tanka

Autumn morning moon

Tinged orange in the dawn light

Frost on a pumpkin

Apples coming in

From the orchard in wagons

To the country store

Take the stage in rising rows

A choir in green paper robes

Each cold morning now

More geese in a raucous rush

Wings waving goodbye

The last two geese now

Swim slowly, sensuously

The lines of their love

Written on the still water

The pond's last poem 'til Spring

Rob Graber
Very nice work! Having grown up working in the family fruit orchard (of mainly apples), I enjoy especially stanza two.

An excellent write, Mr Fog.
Here is the joy of Autumn displayed masterfully, a symphony of colours and shapes. And we rather like the form of Haiku/Tanka, being unfamiliar with the latter until today. I thank you for the education.
Applaudeth.
