Moon

Amidst the giants revolving
Circling the Lord of Light
Aloof it stands to reflect
The only source of Life

Beautiful Elegant Mystical Bright
To guide the navigator, comes out at night
Guides the tides, high or low
Natural Satellite, they're called, also

So close, yet so far
Took millions of years for us to reach
A far off land of dust and sand
How hard could it be to breech?

Many-a-stars are seen, moon in the sky, just one
But what we see of it, is all through another 'SUN'
Sunlight passing through Moon, Moonlight coming to Earth
How calming the moonlight, how worked-up that of the Sun

Another Celestial Body, a hostage to Gravity
Reached out by intelligent life, the selfish kind only
Restructuring its crests and troughs, the way they wish to see
'What good shall the peaks bring, what profits we make from their beauty?'

Stands alone, the timid one
watches the phases come and go
Hides regularly behind the light
May there be heat, may there be snow

How far have we reached?
How much do we know?
From the world of cheese and the developments that followed

Yet special to Earth in countless ways
The lamp of night, which persuades the tides
Gives peace to those who ask for it
Gives serenity, the shiny world, milky white...

Hi Jalaj...

You asked me for a "review"

Your poem "Moon" is fascinating and shows much thought on
your part...

Just one comment..."Moon in the sky, just one"....
Not exactly true...there are many moons in the sky...we only
see one....

Keep writing

Stan
