A love sonnet

My latter Years by M.A.Meddings

My Latter years

By M.A.Meddings

Into my life there came a dream of loveliness
So pure and soft her charms were so evocative
she overcame the darkness and a momentary sadness
my life had known until she came to give

And I was so enchanted by her beauty
Would I resist the heavan in her smile
Could the dreams of what there might be
Ignoring of my duty fail to arrest me for awhile

I did not know how she might enrapture this
How could I know my helpless heart would fall
What man could so resist the promise in her kiss
And how her gentle care my soul enthral

Now I will remember through the pain and fears
The beauty that she brought in my latter years

I have just read it again and felt the need to make a further obseravation. The gentle flow of tenderness and melancholy reflection so very good.
