beware ad hominum
the poisoned well
the straw man

post hoc ergo propter hoc
dripping dagger drawn
slyly sidles from the shadows
searching for the unprotected back

sliding down the slippery slope
into the quagmire of false arguments
and unfounded conclusions

the plural of anecdote
is not fact
folk psychology is not philosophy
