Needs to be read slow and methodical.

Set the ballerina free

The teardrop came
just too late
as it rolled down the life
of this broken slate.

Yet a ballerina dances
in the crystal globe
a tiny spark of hope
in a cryptic show
to find a place
a quiet corner of the mind
to lay down unnoticed
and evaporate in time

In the face of all thoughts
trapped by a steel embrace
crushing every memory
leaving no trace
of the joy that i felt
when my heart touched your soul
as i fell into your life
a kaleidoscope
of autumn gold.

So now i walk into the face
of every other day
not knowing where i go
a thousand dreams away
laid waste by a mind
one thing it only knows
how to slay my every hope
my every cherished wish
to banish me to solitude
in the crowd
of my own abyss.

So when i finally go mad
in the shade of my cherry tree
will you catch my final tear
and let the ballerina go free.

Her teardrop came
just too late
as it rolled down the life
of this broken slate.

This piece sings to me. It has a soothing calmness in its sadness. I have bookmarked this. As I have read it over and over again, I get something new and deeper from it.

"to find a place
a quiet corner of the mind
to lay down unnoticed
and evaporate in time"

This line I understand completely! It was written perfectly. Such clarity in the expression of your sorrow.

This one was great... I liked the flow in your poem...
this was really beautiful :

So when i finally go mad
in the shade of my cheery tree
will you catch my final tear
and let the ballerina go free.

Her tear drop came
just to late
as it rolled down the life
of this broken slate

Melancholy dance on the crystalline edge of a chasm crowded with lonelinesses... But where will she dance if set free?...
Your poems can really whirl up my thoughts and feelings like old dust in a sun beam

Heart-felt write!
Heart-rending effect!
You have a beautiful gift Rik,
That of a sensitive heart,
Of being able to give expression
To your feelings of heart!
(((((Hugs Rik, for yet another velvety smooth piece)))))
