Oh to be Cole Porter-ish

Writing lyrics sophistically clever

Cole so very ultra New Yorker-ish

With his sophisticate lyric endeavor

It's "Easy To Love" his "De-lovely" tunes

Hummed both "Night and Day"

His lyrics voiced for many moons

Will never be passé

We wish we could "Begin the Beguine"

And write with his imagination

But much to our chagrin

We lack his gift of creation
