Countryside

Once in Wordsworth country,

I found myself,

an expanse of breathtaking beauty,

a dizzying spell,

of nature's woven,

web of life and colour,

oh the colour!

tender and supple,

lush to the core,

filling, smudging and encompassing,

meanderings and meadows,

escaping light and the shadows,

underneath the majestic goliaths,

the sentinels that stood guard,

far apart,

from the layers and layers,

of silky green,

and white woolly friends,

The mood majestic, air serene,

nature's best stroke indeed,

The Legend's verses,

I found no more,

the scale for the spectacle,

the point of comparison,

for now,

the whispers from the afternoon breeze,

brought me my melodies pure,

a  happiness true to my heart sore,

I forgot the daffodils and everthing,

preconcieved,

let my arms free and embrace,

to myself and only me,

this selfish dream.

Very nice. Though I thonk you went a bit overboard with the commas. Nice poem.

Wordsworth is exactly my definition of ''breathtaking beauty''... your words take me through that mire and its dreams, in a way... so enjoyable to surf (so to speak) through your thoughts - thanks.

Awesome vivid descriptions. I particularly liked this one:
"meanderings and meadows,

escaping light and the shadows,

underneath the majestic goliaths,

the sentinels that stood guard,

far apart,

from the layers and layers,

of silky green,"
