Solo

The deliciousness of being alone,

no answers to find

to questions I may have lost,

owning decisions

I court the solitary path,

temporarily you understand.

I'm a bit of a loner, always have been - so I understand, although I have found that others don't often appreciate how I need that before battling it out again in the wide world - we all need that me time, the settling of ourselves, to face afresh, be new again

What a nice poem! It's so stripped down as it can be, but still musical.

Some people seem to never want to be alone. I need to recharge sometimes, to sit and organize my thoughts and feelings. As one old '60's poster put it (It had a picture of an elderly lady sitting in a rocking chair):

'Sometimes I sits and think,
and sometimes I just sits.'

Yes, and most definitely, everyone needs to be alone ... temporarily.
