these are thoughts that came to my mind, after a river safari in kabini

the lone tusker

Sitting at my desk
Reminiscing about
The lone Tusker
Standing alone facing us
Swinging his trunk to and fro
They move out of the herd
At fourteen and live alone
What do they do
Spending sixty years alone
What do all animals do anyway
Is there a purpose to their life
Or do they just eat, sleep and
Do inane things like swinging trunks
And die one day
Isn't my life much more meaningful
Working so hard, growing my business
All right I don't spend much time with my family
But at least I am doing something
Meaningful
There is some purpose in what I do
Unlike that elephant
Who was just idly swinging his trunk in that beautiful forest breeze

It's possible that you have misperceived both the elephant and yourself.
