facebook is a way for non-poets to reach out, it's all about the existential yawp. we all want to be heard. you said so in your "twilight" poem. properly written, what i, or you, had for breakfast could be a profound poem.

all that aside, your sense of humor deserves a medal.

LOL ( I learned from Facebook that means laugh out loud)
I SMH ( I learned from Facebook that means shake my head)
Memes and Peeps (I learned these terms on FB)
never go to bed (I learned this from experience on FB)
Why I stay up
to read what they've said
escapes me. (Aha! the last 2 words x plane it)

Funny. I tried FaceBook and Twitter, but just couldn't help wonder (1) like you said, why would anyone care that I bought an avocado today and (2) putting all this information about oneself on something so public as a network so that everybody can see it can't be a good thing. Employers often google job candidates and there's no telling what they may find. I prefer blogs.

Enjoyed this.

You have expressed my sentiments as well. It's the new generation who must be constantly connected and every step explained. I don't understand it either, but it's their world now.
And that's only Facebook ... I don't even understand Twitter!
Yet, these are the kids who have been brave enough and care enough to have carried on the Occupy Movement and will be the leaders of tomorrow. (We must have hope!)
Oh, going to drink my coffee now, without sugar of course,. hmm ... I think I'll wear my blue t-shirt to work today. It's sunny ... No Dylan today ... oh well. ciao.
