This poem along with 5 others was inspired after reading a poem from one of our other members who had either been involved with of at least cared for a married man, you know who you are thanks for the inspiration....
Why did you stop looking at me
With that fire in your eyes
When couldn't you see
I needed your to hear your sighs
Why did you chase your dreams
When I was all you dreamed of
Now we are torn at the seems
What remains of our love
We were going to do so much together
But you started to dream alone
Each for one and other
We were going to build our home
But you worked so many hours
We hardly even shared our bed
And our shared night time baths & morning showers
Became fantasies in my head
But we had so much more to spend
But you never valued time
I never wanted us to end
I always wished you were mine
But with you meeting to do
And business to make
Each dream that almost comes through
With every promise you break
He was there
He saw me
He wanted to share
What we could be
He missed me
when we weren't together
when he kissed me
I wanted it to last forever
The way I did with you
So many years before
But those dreams hadn't come true
But he made me feel great once more
I had given up hoping
I had given up believing
I was barely coping
With a heart that was grieving
At first I think he thought it was just a game
It would only be an affair
Maybe I even felt the same
But at some point we started to care
And how I hear the same promises
From so many years ago
Even taking the blame for causing this
So much you want to show
I know what you have inside
I don't doubt how you care
But I know your pride
Despite what you now want to share
You say that you can forgive me
And that you know you are also to blame
But can you really see
We cant go back to the same
So where do we go from here
Believe me I done know
And this is what I fear
I don't know what can grow
What we shared
is it too late
the way he's cared
should he have to wait
you want answers I don't have
I cant tell you what you want to hear
I just want to recognise love
