Where do I fit in?

I try so hard to hide from what I really am
(Only because they say it's not okay)
I just want to fit into the spaces of society
(Where I'm too small)
The world wants to push me out
(I'm the outcast)
If I can't live in a world where I'm free to be me,
Free to like who I want and not be a "dyke" or a "freak"
Where do I fit in?
What kind of world is it when you're criticized for "being too gay" or "not gay enough"?
Where do I fit in when I'm forced to choose a side?
They say I have to only be one and that I can't like both.
So where do I fit in when I'm with you, but she's constantly on my mind?
You're the love of my life but she still takes my breath away.
Where do I fit in when you hold me close while she clings to my heart
You love me.
And I do love you.
But you have to understand that I also love her
So tell me,
Where do I fit in?

All these societal norms were set by people who died long long ago. Love is love and consenting adults should break free of old traditions if they have now become psychologically unhealthy. This is a a fine piece. Celebrate love :)
