Innocence

Once Upon a Time I knew
I knew a girl so Sweet
So Innocent.
So Trusting.
Once Upon a Time I knew
I knew a girl so Happy
So full of Life.
So Ignorant.
Once Upon a Time I knew
I knew a girl so Pure.
And then Life played a cruel trick.
Her trust was betrayed.
Once Upon a Time I knew
I knew a girl so Shattered.
So Broken.
So Torn.
Once Upon a Time I knew
I knew
The girl was not so Innocent
Not so Pure.
Not so Trusting.
Not so much a little girl anymore.
Once Upon a Time I knew
I knew that girl was
Me

It is no fairytale. I like the structure and the message is conveyed very well.

I admire the structuring here. It brings prominence to the character. The innocence lost is very powerful, and it comes across very genuine. Thanks for sharing.

John.
