Indelible

...and so time flew past
as we squabbled with life
The moments that mattered, faded
into unfulfilled dreams and tired sighs.
It is indeed a one way street,
this thing that we call time
Left few marks indelible,
and some wrinkles inside.
however,
we were once happy and young
we saw in colors that were a lot of fun
we often dueled with love and dodged reality
we sang, smiled and lived silly
now that I look back,
it does pain me deeply,
something prickly, a rotten misery
I wish we had known right there and then
this is the brightest sun will ever shine,
and greatest the birds will ever sing
had we the faintest of ideas.
I am sure we would never have blinked...

It is said by wise ones to never look back, but there are those indelible marks left by some people that are impossible to either erase or recover. These lines struck me hard, as they say so much::

"I wish we had known right there and then
this is the brightest sun will ever shine,
and greatest the birds will ever sing
had we the faintest of ideas.
I am sure we would never have blinked..."

Simply beautiful.
