These Haiku were written during a Facebook exchange with a poet colleague. My Haiku were responses to his talk of rules, meter, music, and metaphor.

Five Haiku for a poetry scribbler

i.
Rules for poetry;
Poetry is anarchy--
Rules are such bullshit.

ii.
Meter and music,
vomits the master, Bibek,
are necessary.

iii.
Another haiku--
stupendously revolting--
for the rule lover.

iv.
It's obvious you
love rules and order. Look out!
He's puking a rule!

v.
I don't really know
if you always vomit rules,
but you love them so.

Ironic that your responses to your poet friend regarding rules, meter, music, and metaphor were done in the strict and melodic rules of Haiku. :)

My favorite:
"Meter and music,
vomits the master, Bibek,
are necessary."

I truly enjoyed reading these.

one trick pony The PoetBay support member heart!
these five haiku remind me a tennis player hitting against a backboard—the ball keeps coming back to you, the opponent hasn't the ability to strategize or attack in kind.
