Poem by Marianne Moore (1887-1972)

A Jelly-Fish

Visible, invisible,
A fluctuating charm,
An amber-colored amethyst
Inhabits it; your arm
Approaches, and
It opens and
It closes;
You have meant
To catch it,
And it shrivels;
You abandon
Your intent—
It opens, and it
Closes and you
Reach for it—
The blue
Surrounding it
Grows cloudy, and
It floats away
From you.

Can't thank you enough, Bibek! A wonderful poem by a poet I had never heard of before. I found it had a powerful effect to recreate that out-of-reach, slipping away feeling. I very much enjoyed the way it's written.

Really looking forward to your next ones... :)
